The participants underwent a one-day training based on the Participatory Learning and Community Empowerment (PLCE) model, combining environmental education, materials provision, and hands-on practical skills. Aromatherapy candles were chosen for their dual health benefits and market potential, offering a creative and eco-friendly solution distinct from other waste oil preparations. Field analysis revealed that up to 70% of local pollution was attributed to improper disposal, underscoring the relevance of this initiative. As a result of the training, participants showed a significant increase in understanding about the environmental hazards of used cooking oil and demonstrated new technical skills in producing quality aromatherapy candles using safe household methods. Group reflection and discussion indicated strong attitudinal change, with participants motivated to continue candle production independently and aware that household waste could become valuable resources. All participants produced candles exhibiting uniform color, stable burning, and appealing aroma. Labor pain is one of the most significant experiences a mother experiences during labor. Anxiety can influence pain intensity, as the more anxious a mother is during labor, the greater the pain she experiences. Anxiety can cause the brain to release substances that suppress endorphin release, making the pain even more intense and causing stress during labor, leading to increased pain impulses and weaker uterine muscle contractions. This pain can be managed with pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods, often used for its calming and safety effects. Aromatherapy is a complementary therapy that has been extensively studied for its ability to reduce labor pain through various methods, including inhalation, massage, and diffusers. These findings support the use of aromatherapy as an effective complementary intervention for labor management. While previous findings focused on a single aspect, specifically a single oil or method, this literature review provides new insights into several ways aromatherapy can be applied to reduce labor pain. This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of aromatherapy in managing labor pain using various methods. Selected from the latest research from international and national journals published between 2020 and 2025, recent studies have shown that inhaling the aroma of oils such as lavender, neroli, and peppermint through inhalation and massage promotes calm and reduces pain. Various methods of aromatherapy application have been used in clinical studies, including essential oils, candles, and diffusers. Each method has unique characteristics in terms of concentration, duration, and intensity of essential oil exposure. The use of diffusers has also been shown to create a comfortable atmosphere that helps reduce stress and pain. Therefore, aromatherapy is a safe and drug-free way to relieve labor pain, with various methods that can be tailored to the needs of the laboring mother.

Gabriella Jessica Eriesti Fitri Setyaningrum Azizah Laila Chusna Hidayanti Juinte Beanal Nabila Intan Rizkiani Ida Sofiyanti Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of Conference on Health Universitas Ngudi Waluyo 2025-12-31 2025-12-31 2 1 42 47 How Does Training Frequency Affect Athletes’ Performance in The Paragliding Cross-Country Championship? https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/ICH-UNW/article/view/1598
Cross Country is one of the competition event in the paragliding sport that requires the ability to read the wind, utilize thermals and maintain appropriate training frequency. Factors such as age and parity are often considered the main causes of anemia in pregnant women. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia remains relatively high, and successful management depends heavily on understanding the factors that influence its occurrence. This literature review aims to describe the relationship between age, parity, and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women and to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions that can be implemented to prevent anemia. This literature review used a literature review method. A systematic search was conducted using a computerized search of articles published between 2020 and 2025 using Google Scholar. Only articles with a quantitative design and full text were included in this analysis. Keyword search using the PICO (Population Intervention Compare Outcome) technique. Of the 20 articles searched, 10 matched the topic of this literature review. Of these 10 articles, 9 showed a significant association between age and parity and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women, while the other 1 article found no such association. The study results indicate that pregnant women who are too young (under 20 years) or too old (over 35 years) are at higher risk of developing anemia. High parity (more than 4 pregnancies) was also found to be an important risk factor. Most studies show a significant association between age and parity, with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. Although one study differs, anemia prevention in pregnant women can be achieved by increasing awareness of the importance of routine checkups and optimal pregnancy management. Therefore, efforts to prevent and manage anemia in pregnant women should prioritize age and parity as key risk indicators to ensure more targeted and effective interventions.
Hasni Mirwana Linda Rustiyana Septa Puspitasari Nita Nurhandayani Eka Agusrini Herlina Liling Puspida Sepri Winda Sari Novitasari Luvi Dian Afriyani Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of Conference on Health 2025-12-31 2025-12-31 2 1 57 61 Literature Review : Side Effects of Using Birth Control Implants https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/ICH-UNW/article/view/1515
The government's efforts to reduce population growth are through family planning (KB) programs. According to the World Health Organization, 10–15% of maternal deaths in developing countries are caused by hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, including preeclampsia and eclampsia. In Indonesia, data from the Ministry of Health show that preeclampsia is the second leading cause of maternal death after haemorrhage, contributing to 24% of cases. This condition not only endangers maternal health but also has detrimental effects on the foetus, such as low birth weight (LBW), prematurity, and neonatal asphyxia. Therefore, understanding the factors that influence the incidence of severe preeclampsia is essential for prevention and early management efforts. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse the factors associated with the incidence of severe preeclampsia during labour based on research conducted in Indonesia, serving as a foundation for the development of promotive and preventive strategies in midwifery care. According to UN Statistics 2020 that more than 149 million (22%) toddlers worldwide experience stunting, of which 6.3 million are young children or stunted toddlers, namely Indonesian toddlers. The condition known as stunting arises from persistent inadequate nutrition over an extended period, starting from pregnancy and continuing until the child reaches two years old, which impedes normal development. This research approach relies on reviewing existing scholarly works. The study chose publications using phrases like "nutrition for expectant mothers" and "stunting," while applying specific requirements: readily available complete articles, presented either in Indonesian or English, and released from 2022 to 2025. The study found nine publications that matched the requirements. Every research paper originated from investigations carried out within Indonesia. Based on the literature review, it can be inferred that a connection exists between a mother's nutritional well-being while pregnant and the prevalence of stunted growth among children throughout Indonesia. The results of this literature review suggest that health professionals are essential in educating pregnant women about their nutritional requirements, with the goal of lowering the likelihood of stunting in young children within their regions. Moreover, communities can enhance their understanding and dedicate increased focus to nutritional consumption, especially for expectant mothers, to guarantee sufficient nourishment for the developing baby.
izzatul Muhda Wahyu Septi Pulungsari Heni Herawati Eka Purnamasari Yuliana Purwa Ningsih Kurnia Putri Permatasari Desi Ambar Sari Sri Ratmawati Ira Larasati Luvi Dian Afriyani Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of Conference on Health 2025-12-31 2025-12-31 2 1 103 108 Literature Review: Factors Influencing the Low Use of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (LCMs) in Indonesia https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/ICH-UNW/article/view/1545
In developing countries, high maternal mortality rates and unintended pregnancies remain a global public health problem. This review synthesizes 12 empirical studies (2020–2025) from Indonesia and comparable settings, and presents a comparative table summarizing prevalence, primary risk factors, and intervention outcomes across districts such as Bantul and OKU. Key determinants identified across the reviewed literature include inadequate iron intake, poor dietary diversity, menstrual disorders, low adherence to iron supplementation, insufficient knowledge of nutrition and health, and socioeconomic disparities. Findings from community-based studies in Bantul and Ogan Komering Ulu districts indicate that irregular menstrual cycles and poor nutritional status are strongly correlated with anemia, with odds ratios exceeding 4.0 in most analyses. Furthermore, literature reviews highlight the effectiveness of integrated approaches such as weekly iron supplementation, school-based nutrition education, and menstrual health management in reducing anemia prevalence. However, limitations persist, including low compliance rates with supplementation programs and insufficient biomarker-based differentiation between iron-deficiency anemia and other etiologies. The paper concludes that addressing adolescent anemia requires not only supplementation but also behavioral change strategies and socioeconomic interventions that improve dietary access, health literacy, and program adherence.
eka widyaningrum Eka Meidiani Astri Purnamasari Mustar Irma Kurnia Artha Prihati Ningsih Felismina Maria Cardoso Melianna Silaban Yulita Pasasak Dina Melinda Pardosi Rita da Conceicao Celeste Barros Mugi Musrianah Marina Ramba Copyright (c) 2025 Proceedings of Conference on Health 2025-12-31 2025-12-31 2 1 129 132 Customer Satisfaction Survey on Drug Information Services at Sumber Waras Salatiga Pharmacy https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/ICH-UNW/article/view/1616
Drug information services play a vital role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of patient therapy. Based on their osmolarity, sports drinks are classified into three types: hypotonic, isotonic, and hypertonic beverages. The main benefit of sports drinks is to replace minerals lost through sweat during exercise, while also providing a quick source of energy for athletes experiencing fatigue. Sports drinks play an important role in maintaining blood glucose levels, fluid balance, and supporting muscle function during physical activity. However, the effectiveness of sports drinks in improving athletic performance still shows varying results, as it is influenced by differences in nutritional composition, type of sport, intensity, time of consumption, and duration of activity. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of sports drinks on athletic performance through a literature review based on research results from 2015 to 2025. The method used was a systematic analysis of a number of research articles relevant to this topic. A total of 16 articles were selected based on inclusion criteria covering theme suitability, research methods, and athletic performance parameters. The results of the study showed that of the 16 articles reviewed, 11 reported that sports drinks had a positive effect on athletic performance. In general, the consumption of sports drinks has been proven to help maintain body hydration, maintain blood glucose levels, delay muscle fatigue, and speed up recovery after strenuous exercise. Carbohydrate-electrolyte content in concentrations of 6–8% is considered most effective for supporting long-duration physical activity of moderate to high intensity. In addition, a combination of nutrients such as sodium, potassium, and a small amount of protein can increase fluid retention and prevent performance decline due to dehydration. However, the effectiveness of sports drinks also depends on the athlete's initial energy status, type of exercise, and environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. Excessive consumption can cause electrolyte imbalance or digestive problems. Therefore, the use of sports drinks needs to be tailored to individual needs and the type of sport being played. In conclusion, sports drinks make a significant contribution to maintaining athletes' performance, endurance, and hydration status, making them an important nutritional strategy for supporting optimal performance during training and competition.
F.
