The Role of Digital Storytelling in Cultivating Lifelong Learning Mindsets among University Students: A Narrative Inquiry
Keywords:
Digital Storytelling, Lifelong Learning, Narrative InquiryAbstract
This qualitative study explores how digital storytelling fosters lifelong learning mindsets among university students. As digital technology increasingly shapes education, learners are expected not only to develop technical skills but also reflective, autonomous, and self-directed learning habits. Using a narrative inquiry approach, the research examines the lived experiences of English Education students engaged in digital storytelling projects within their coursework. The study investigates how students perceive and construct their learning journeys while creating digital stories that represent personal or academic development. Data will be gathered through interviews, classroom observations, reflective journals, and analysis of the digital storytelling products. Narrative inquiry enables a deep understanding of how learners interpret their experiences and how digital storytelling supports self-reflection and motivation for continuous learning. The study aims to provide insights into how technology-supported narrative practices contribute to lifelong learning dispositions in higher education, particularly within language education and digital literacy contexts.
