This program was implemented through a series of training sessions that incorporated digitally mediated public speaking activities, including interactive presentations and reflective postings on educational social media platforms. The primary aim of this initiative was to enhance students’ English public speaking competence and digital literacy through the use of educational social media, specifically targeting students of SMK Muhammadiyah Ungaran, Semarang Regency. The program was designed to address several key challenges, including students’ limited proficiency in English public speaking, inadequate digital literacy skills, and the lack of interactive media utilization in learning. The implementation process began with a preliminary briefing for Universitas Ngudi Waluyo students involved in the program, followed by coordination with the partner school to determine the schedule of activities. The program concluded with the preparation of a comprehensive report upon completion. The findings reveal that the integration of educational social media significantly improved students’ confidence, clarity, and fluency in English public speaking, as reflected in the increase from 32,78% to 65,67%. In addition, students demonstrated enhanced abilities to critically engage with and navigate digital content. These results suggest that educational social media can function as an effective and engaging medium for fostering essential 21st-century communication skills.

Dewi Rosnita Hardiany; Mochamad Rizqi Adhi Pratama; Ari Siswati Copyright (c) 2026 International Journal of Community Empowerment https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/IJCE/article/view/1884 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Lucky Plants As A Change in Business Models in The Ornamental Plant Market in Kopeng, Salatiga City https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/IJCE/article/view/1882
Most market vendors in Kopeng, Salatiga, are already familiar with plants that bring good luck, meaning they bring good fortune and protection from supernatural attacks (tolak balak). However, they don't use this knowledge to share with visitors who intend to bring home souvenirs from the Kopeng Tourism Park. One persuasive way to direct buyers to the market is to convey the benefits of these lucky plants by providing information using standing banners in the kiosks, encouraging visitors to decide which type of ornamental plant to purchase. This is part of a marketing strategy that encourages people to green and beautify their homes, even though in this modern era, this practice is considered superstition. The standing banner method is an output of the Marketing Mix concept implemented by the Community Service Team. This assumption should not be a barrier to environmental beauty and sustainability, but rather conveys a moral message that even a small number of existing plants can have a helpful function, which is important for the community.
Yovita Mumpuni Hartarini, Sopi, Zumrotun Nafiah Copyright (c) 2026 International Journal of Community Empowerment https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/IJCE/article/view/1882 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Tax Education for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises: Understanding Final Income Tax At 0.5% for Online Traders in Salatiga City https://callforpaper.unw.ac.id/index.php/IJCE/article/view/1889
Tax compliance among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia remains considerably low, particularly among online traders who operate through digital platforms. This community service project (PKM), titled "Project Harmony," was conducted at SMPN 3 Ungaran to introduce Japanese arts and music as functional mediums for improving mental resilience among 8th-grade students. The program utilized a holistic approach, integrating the meditative practice of Origami to foster mindfulness, the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi to encourage self-acceptance, and musical appreciation to assist in emotional regulation. The methodology involved interactive workshops, visual demonstrations, and collaborative group projects designed to bridge cultural concepts with daily student life. The results indicated a significant positive impact on the participants, with over 90% of students reporting increased levels of relaxation and self-confidence following the intervention. The sessions effectively demonstrated that aesthetic and rhythmic activities can serve as accessible, low-cost tools for stress management and identity exploration. Furthermore, the collaborative art projects enhanced social cohesion and communication among peers.
