The postpartum period is an important phase in the success of lactation, especially for primiparous mothers who have no previous breastfeeding experience. The Continuity of Care (CoC) approach is one of the midwifery care models that provides continuous care to improve lactation success. This study used a case study design on Mrs. A, a 24-year-old P1A0 physiological postpartum mother who received care starting from the third trimester of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, until newborn care. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and medical record documentation. The care provided included lactation education, emotional support, proper breastfeeding techniques, breast care, and oxytocin massage. The results showed that the CoC approach helped improve lactation success, characterized by increased breast milk production each day, active breastfeeding behavior of the baby, absence of breast engorgement, and increased maternal confidence in breastfeeding. Evaluation of breast milk production showed a gradual increase, with approximately 10–15 ml per feeding on the first day in the form of colostrum, increasing to 20–30 ml on the second day, 30–60 ml on the third day, and reaching 60–90 ml per feeding from the fourth to seventh postpartum day. The Continuity of Care approach was effective in supporting lactation success in primiparous postpartum mothers through continuous monitoring, education, and psychological support.
Evaluasi produksi ASI menunjukkan peningkatan bertahap, yaitu hari pertama sekitar 10–15 ml setiap kali menyusui berupa kolostrum, hari kedua meningkat menjadi 20–30 ml, hari ketiga sekitar 30–60 ml, dan hari keempat hingga ketujuh produksi ASI mencapai 60–90 ml setiap kali menyusui.
